House of Hancocks, Luxury Retail Refurbishment
Mayfair London | 2023 | £1.5m
Bespoke retail environment for a heritage British brand
A unique vision for an iconic British jeweller
In 2024, Hancocks London, the sole supplier of the Victoria Cross, relocated to a new bespoke home in St. James’s that truly reflects the gravity and prestige of their historic brand. Their goal was to create a luxurious space that feels more like a private home than a traditional retail shop, where customers can relax, enjoy a drink, and discreetly view pieces at their leisure.
With their new premises secured, the client required dedicated project management to deliver this high-stakes project, which involved complex interfaces and valuable stock. We were brought in to provide trusted expertise, from brief definition and team assembly through to cost planning, delivery, and handover, acting as their advocate and guide.
Project management for high-spec commercial fit-outs
Delivering luxury with clarity and momentum
Due to the specialised nature of key elements of the works, three separate contractors were required to complete the project. We focused on unifying and aligning all contractors early in the process to identify interfaces, clarify scopes of work, assess risks, set clear objectives, agree on timelines, and confirm contract sums.
Coordinating multiple contractors for complex security and luxury finishes
By effectively managing the coordination of three separate contracts, we delivered a fully coordinated, luxury product that included 5 beautifully remodelled and fitted out floors, installation of a state-of-the-art security system, and awe-inspiring bespoke joinery.
Strategic retail design supporting long-term brand value
Importance of high-quality retail design
The result is a gem of a store, sophisticated, secure, and deeply connected to the Hancocks brand story. For the client, it’s more than just a shop; it’s a future-proofed space that reflects their heritage and opens new doors for growth.
The project reaffirmed the emotional and reputational value of having a trusted advisor in this unpredictable industry. Providing structure and process to a project makes it more enjoyable and productive for all parties, most importantly the client.
Experienced in central London retail refurbishments
This project deepened our understanding of the importance of emotive storytelling through design, state-of-the-art security systems, and construction in a busy central London location. We are now keen to connect with businesses that require fully bespoke retail refurbishments, which uphold brand value and historical integrity.
